The national minimum wage increased from 1 October, the rates applicable now are as follows:
- Workers aged 22 and over:
Hourly rate increases from
£5.73 to £5.80
Hourly rate increases from
£4.77 to £4.83
Hourly rate increases from
£3.53 to £3.57
The maximum weekly limit for a week’s statutory pay increases from £350 to £380, including statutory redundancy pay.
This limit is used to calculate certain awards made by employment tribunals and other amounts payable by the Secretary of State under employment legislation, where an employer is insolvent.
It suspends the annual uprating of these limits due to take place in February 2010.
