FOUR AT A TIME FOR YALBERTON AUTOS
John Denbow, the owner of Yalberton Autos Torbay Ltd, wanted a vehicle that could carry four cars. His idea was to wait until he had four cars to be delivered up north and then use one vehicle to deliver them all. That same vehicle could then collect his own courtesy cars or loads for other recovery companies and deliver them back down south.
John looked at various manufacturers and finally decided on Truk International Ltd, of Bristol. The specification was for an 18 tonne Scania sleeper cab chassis with air suspension, which was to be fitted with a Truk 'California' TSC400 4 tonne capacity Slideback, a 1.5 tonne Overhead Car Carrier and a 1.5 tonne Second Car Spectacle Lift.

 California for Mount Pleasant |
ANOTHER TRUK FOR MOUNT PLEASANT RECOVERY
Mount Pleasant Recovery, is a growing family run business based in Hope Valley, Derbyshire. There are two parts to the business both of which complement one another. The main part of the business is the busy recovery service where they offer a twenty four hour, seven day a week service, working for all the major clubs. This brings in a lot of work for their garage repair workshop where they service and repair both car and commercials up to forty four tonnes. They also MOT cars. The business was established almost twenty four years ago.
Mark Sammans, the owner of Mount Pleasant Recovery, wanted another transporter to add to his fleet. He had bought Renault Midlum's before and been pleased with them so the chassis choice wasn't difficult. The choice of Slideback wasn't so straight forward but in the end Mark, decided to order a 'California' Slideback from Truk International Ltd of Bristol. "I had used Truk Slidebacks before and hadn't had any problems, and the latest 'California' looked to have a lot of features that others didn't have. They were also very helpful, in fact I bought the complete package through Truk and it's been great. The vehicle looks fantastic. I wanted side skirts and Truk designed them and had them made in fibreglass and they look terrific. I'm very impressed with all they have done."
 Police choose TRUK |
TRUK SPECTACLE LIFT FOR DEVON AND CORNWALL POLICE
Devon and Cornwall Police have recently taken delivery of a new Truk International Arizona Swan Neck Spectacle Lift, fitted to an Iveco 75E 17S, 7.5 tonne GVW, day cab chassis.
The new Truk two and half tonne capacity Arizona Spectacle Lift will be used primarily to move cars between Police Stations and Police workshops which will assist the Transport Department in increasing the efficiency of the fleet.
Brian Hollis, Devon and Cornwall's, Transport Engineer, choose a Spectacle Lift for this role because he wanted a vehicle which had a small overall length and was very manoeuvrable. This would enable it to pick up vehicles from places where access for a Slideback would be difficult if not impossible.
This is the second Truk equipped vehicle Devon and Cornwall Police have bought and Brian is very happy with them. "Truk have always given us good service and I'm very pleased with the latest Spectacle Lift, it's built to a very high standard. As part of the overall package they will shortly be visiting us to train all our operators in the use of the equipment to ensure we comply with all the latest Health and Safety requirements."
